Msophian
Hi, I have a query. I co-owned a flat in Woodlands with both my parents. They moved in to the flat in 2002 same period when I got enlisted for NS, in August. In 2005 after NS, I moved out of the house due to a conflict between me and my mother. Well, all my siblings chose to side her due to filial piety. Now 15 years later, they refused to sell the house. I have tried writing in to HDB many times, went down to meet HDB officers personally etc, but cannot. My elder brother informed me before that I can just go to HDB to remove my name (as informed by his so-called Housing agent friend). HDB said otherwise. Right now, they are not able to afford the house, so they ended up renting the place since 2018. All along they kept this information from me. I found out as i need to file for income tax annually. When I logged onto the HDB website, I indeed saw the rental records. What can I do to remove my name from the house? Does my parents have any legal obligation to inform me of the rental? Am I obliged to pay for the property tax when I am not staying there? I do not dare to go back there due to a few factors. 1. I was previously threatened by my elder brother that he will punch my face 2. A couple of times I went back, and got the door slammed onto my face by my mother. What should I do? What can I do?
