On 17/12/2020, my colleague, Assistant Warehouse Manager, Brian, reported to me about a workplace harassment and misconduct towards a female warehouse staff. The misdemeanor was reported to be committed by one of the company drivers, Cong Jianwei. The harassment and misconduct by the driver was reported to have been happening frequently and the affected staff has lodged a report to the previous HR officer, Jessy. However, I was informed that no action was taken to resolve the issue then. In light of the concerns raised by the female worker, Brian investigated the matter by observing the interactions during work exchange at the warehouse on the 18/12/2020. I was then informed that there was a video footage of the incident. After reviewing the video, and assessing that indeed the driver did try to touch the female staff, I decided to speak to the driver on the matter. The driver returned back to the company after his delivery and met me in my office at around 1735hrs. During the meet-up, he raised about his previous leave matter dated 7/10/2019. He only submitted his documents for the leave on 17/12/2020 which was not in accordance to the company HR policies. I explained to him about this and also asked him on his cash card updates. The driver got agitated and seemingly aggressive and started hurling vulgarities at me. It was at this moment that Brian, Assistant Warehouse Manager arrived at my office and witnessed the incident. The driver then lunged at me in front of my office and that was when the driver assaulted me by kicking me hard on my right abdomen area. In self-defense, I blocked him before he kicked me again and accidentally knock off his spectacles. Upon witnessing the assault, Brian, Assistant Warehouse Manager got up to block and hold off the driver from advancing towards me again but the driver kept charging forward, with a murderous intent and continued hurling vulgarities at me. He even threatened me again by saying he will hit or attack me if he get any change.so I quickly went back to my office and rang up my CEO Alex, his sister and my husband to report about the assault. When my CEO and his sister arrived back at the office, they called the driver to the meeting room and while the driver walked pass my office, he continued to hurl vulgarities at me. Our CEO then verbally informed the driver to stop his aggression. A police report was later made by my husband for my safety and well-being. The police came to take down our statements. An ambulance was called and to took me to the hospital as I suffered severe pain over my abdomen area due to the assault.
